This is your fortnightly reminder to reflect on how you are taking charge of your wellbeing and putting YOU on your to do list 😊
Spring has landed which can often bring feelings of renewal and new beginnings – colourful flowers, cute lambs, lighter evenings and all that jazz!
It is often a time that encourages us to ‘Spring clean’ – getting rid of the old, inviting in new fresh energy and refreshing our physical spaces. I would invite you to consider if we can take a similar approach to refreshing our wellbeing?
Is there a positive new habit that you could build into your daily or weekly rituals, is there a less helpful habit that you could reduce? Habit stacking is a great way to build new habits – pair something you already do with a new habit you want to incorporate e.g. we could follow Michael Mosley’s advice and stand on one leg whilst brushing our teeth!
How helpful are your thought patterns? Are you stuck in negative thinking cycles – that inner critic we have talked about before chastising you when really you are doing your best. We invite you to encourage your inner cheerleader to be louder, to speak to yourself with kindness, compassion and knowing that you gave your best today and that is enough.
Whatever Spring looks like for you we hope you make some small tweaks to feel better and improve your wellbeing. Consistent small steps add up to big change 😊
Spring wellness tips:
- Enjoy the longer hours of daylight and step out for some fresh air – this can improve mood and serotonin production
- Connect with nature – plant some seeds, get out in the garden or into nature -this can reduce stress and anxiety
- Physical activity – also helps with anxiety and depression
- Practice gratitude – appreciate the beauty of Spring to boost your mood
