HeadStart invites you to be gentle and kind with yourselves this new year. We provided some wellbeing tips before the holidays so we hope you managed to put some of those into practice to top up your wellbeing!
There can be an external pressure this time of year along the lines of ‘new year, new you’. This can lead to negative self-talk. Can you have goals? New hobbies or interests? Absolutely! But all we hope is that you aspire to be a kinder, healthier and happier version of who you already are! You are already magic!
It can feel like a natural time to set new intentions, work towards new goals and perhaps let go of some unhelpful habits which are all worthwhile pursuits but we don’t need to heap a load of unnecessary pressure on ourselves when in fact it is still Winter and a time where we naturally need more rest and comfort.
New intentions and habits can be considered at any point during the year so have some kindness and compassion around the expectations you have of you! Celebrate you as you already are – you are enough!
