We had a fantastic catch‑up with our HeadStarters at St Peter’s Secondary!
These amazing, enthusiastic mental health champions have already achieved brilliant things in Year 7 — from promoting their learning during break times for Mental Health Week, to designing a whole‑school wellbeing‑themed quiz.
Last week the group met again to plan even more exciting wellbeing projects. Their ideas included:
- Pop‑up wellbeing stands at break and lunchtime to help recruit new HeadStarters.
- Kindness Certificates, created and designed by the group, for pupils to nominate someone in their tutor group each week.
- Teacher interviews, where pupils will ask staff what mental health and wellbeing means to them, and how they support their own wellbeing in school and at home.
- A dedicated school wellbeing newsletter, designed and produced entirely by the HeadStarters.
This wonderful planning session took place on Random Acts of Kindness Day, and as part of the fun, the group played Think Words — using the game to spark positive ideas which were then shared on the HeadStart social media channels.
