The year 5 pupils at St Edward’s Primary School were eager to be a part of HeadStarters after I shared this very special role with their classes. I had so many great applications, it made it difficult to choose the team. Now we are in week 3, these young people are committed to becoming mental health champions, which they promised in their application.
Their applications shared how they were keen to be role models, that showed respect, kindness and reliability and now they are demonstrating these skills. Keep up the great work!
Julie – HeadStart Emotional Health Practitioner
My name is Matilda and I am a part of the St Edward’s Primary School HeadStarter team. We applied 2 weeks before being recruited. Julie from HeadStart came into school and showed us a video made by previous HeadStarters. Some of the class, who were interested, wrote to Julie and some made posters to say why we wanted to be a HeadStarter. Lots of us applied and 12 got through. Milo, another HeadStarter pupil said “This job is a very special job!”.
