As part of our Winter Wonderland and Christmas Market at Highcliffe, we set up a Mental Health and Wellbeing stall to introduce the team and what we do as a school to our parents and the wider community.
We encouraged parents to decorate melted snowmen biscuits with their children and we set up a ‘den’ with cushions, fairy lights, calming music and a ‘roaring fire’ to create a cosy and relaxing atmosphere.
In this room, we also shared leaflets and activities that parents could take with them to help support mental health at home.
We also displayed a variety of children’s books that sensitively negotiate different topics surrounding mental health and wellbeing so that families could get cosy and share these with one another.
