A group of Headstarter’s from the Kings Academy in Coulby Newham had been selected to take part in a funding scheme with Key+.
They had to pitch an idea, centred around positive mental health within the school, to be in with a chance of winning a £250 grant to go towards their idea.
They came up with the idea of creating a safe and inclusive breakout room called Relaxation 101 where students can reset and access mental health and wellbeing support. They formed this idea as it was recognised that some form of relaxation room would benefit the whole school community. This is a cause that matters deeply to them.
After weeks of preparation and a gruelling interview process over teams, with some intense questions being asked, we are proud to say they were accepted for the grant.
We can’t wait to see what the second round brings!
