Over the past week, we were able to present Acklam Whin’s Year 5 HeadStarters with their Silver Award certificates in a special assembly where the rest of the school was told about how the group will be launching a lunchtime wellbeing club where students can go to seek advice, support and/or a place to relax if they are struggling on the playground.
The HeadStarters have been developing their own resources that students can use during the lunchtime club including a board game all around mental health and coping strategies!
We also had a fantastic assembly at St. Bernadette’s RC Primary School during Children’s Mental Health Week to discuss the importance of mental health, share some of our own feelings and to talk about who the pupils can speak to in school about how they are feeling. There was some fantastic knowledge and questions from all the year groups, from Year 1 all the way to Year 6.
Errington Primary School also delivered a presentation about why their voices matter as part of Children Mental Health Awareness week. During their assembly, the group also showcased a wonderful animated video they created. Well done everyone.
