Welcome to your fortnightly reminder that YOU matter and you’re important too in amongst all the demands of work, home and life!
As you know, here at HeadStart we are very passionate about staff wellbeing and actively encourage positive practices across all schools to support staff wellbeing as part of a whole school approach and embedded culture.
We also appreciate that we all have an individual responsibility too to tend to our own physical and emotional needs as professionals and adults but sometimes it can feel like a lot and where do we start?! Self-care has so many different layers to tend to – psychological, spiritual, physical, emotional, social…the list goes on! It can feel really overwhelming to know where to start and what simple activities or actions we can take for ourselves to improve our wellbeing.
So this week we are a sharing a self-care ideas plan to consider the different types of self-care and what small steps you can take to help yourself. We would recommend starting small – pick one area that you feel needs some attention and start with that. Small, consistent actions are key. Once you feel like you’ve developed a good habit in one area then pick another one and build up some healthy goals and nourishment for YOU!
