Hello Yellow campaign provided a fantastic opportunity for young people from the Freebrough Attendance Programme to share their thoughts on mental health, wellbeing and self-care. The group reflected on the importance of looking after their mental health and highlighted how small, positive actions can make a big difference to overall wellbeing.
As part of the campaign, students shared some of the activities they enjoy to support their wellbeing, including spending time with friends and family, listening to music, getting outdoors, exercising, taking part in hobbies and making time to relax. They also discussed the positive steps they take to maintain good mental health, such as talking to trusted people, staying active, taking breaks when needed and seeking support when they are struggling.
By sharing their personal experiences and wellbeing tips, the group helped raise awareness of the importance of self-care and reminded others that looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health. Their messages reflected the core aims of the Hello Yellow campaign: encouraging conversations about mental health, reducing stigma and reminding everyone that support is available when it is needed.
We are incredibly proud of the group for using their voices to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and for helping to create a culture where young people feel confident talking about how they are feeling. đź’›
