Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to share the Make It Better campaign toolkit, developed in partnership between the Child Health and Wellbeing Network (CHWN) and Public Health South Tees. The campaign encourages children and young people to use everyday creativity whether that’s doodling, dancing, coding, crafting, writing, nail art or making as a simple and effective way to support their mental health, wellbeing and emotional regulation.
We are asking partners across health, education, local authorities and the VCSE sector to take CREATIVE action throughout March, April & May:
C – Champion the campaign
Share the campaign materials with at least five networks, partners or colleagues to help widen the cascade across our region.
R – Read and reference the research
Explore the evidence to strengthen conversations about why creativity matters for wellbeing Click Here
E – Engage publicly
Post campaign content on your organisation or personal social media accounts at least three times each month, using the provided assets and hashtags.
A – Amplify key messages
Display the campaign posters in a minimum of two areas in your local setting; schools, GP surgeries, youth spaces, staff areas to increase visibility and spark conversations.
T – Teach using the resources
Make use of the lesson plans within the toolkit to teach children and young people about creative health, encouraging small creative moments in your sessions.
I – Integrate the campaign into your environment
Share the screensaver with your communications team and display it in waiting areas, add the campaign email footer to your electronic signature.
V – View creativity as health
Promote the mindset that creativity isn’t an add‑on, but a practical wellbeing tool that supports emotional regulation and healthier routines.
E – Embed creativity in everyday conversations
Adopt a “Make Every Contact Count” approach by weaving creative health into your routine discussions with children, families and professionals
