Our year 5 HeadStarters at Linthorpe Community Primary School did an amazing job during their recent HeadStart assembly, confidently sharing their HeadStart journey and learning in front of the whole school.
The children planned and delivered the assembly themselves with support from their HeadStart lead Carly, showing great teamwork, courage, and maturity.
They spoke thoughtfully about emotional wellbeing and mental health, helping to raise awareness of the importance of understanding emotions, looking after ourselves, and supporting one another.
Their confidence and honesty were inspiring, and they should be extremely proud of the way they represented themselves, their school and Headstart.
Teacher Feedback:
“I was able to pop in and out of the sessions and the children were clearly very engaged and actively participating. It has been a valuable opportunity for them to spend time away from the classroom, reflecting on and discussing their year six journey.”
“The group members all reported that the group work had been really positive and enabled them to articulate their concerns/worries about change. It has been lovely to see them working together positively every Wednesday afternoon.”
